Fixtures don't need to be completed in any particular order, but aim to have all of your league matches completed by21st May ASAP please.
Quarter Finals
(I) 1st place in Group #1 Dearg_Doom 2 - 1 4th Place in Group #2 Gary Bingham
(II) 2nd place in Group #1 Meleth vs. 3rd place in Group #2 KharnForBloodGod
(III) 3rd place in Group #1 twyearling 1 - 2 2nd place in Group #2 Revic
(IV) 4th place in Group #1 Kindrik vs. 1st place in Group #2 Neil
Matches are best of three with Semi Finals as follows:
Dearg_Doom vs. Revic
Winner of match (II) vs. Winner of match (IV)
Rules
1. Matches are best of three games with all three games being played irrespective of the outcome of games one and two.
2. During the league stage you will play each opponent (in your group) two matches, one "home" fixture and one "away" fixture.
3. Minimum deck size = 60 cards (there is no maximum deck size).
4. You may have a sideboard of 15 cards for your deck. You can switch cards between your sideboard and your deck, but only in between games.
5. You may have no more than 4 copies of the same card in your deck. (except basic lands)
6. You may switch decks between matches, but not between games.
7. If you have no lands in your opening hand you can elect to shuffle your deck and draw a new set of seven cards. Show your opponent your opening hand to prove that you had no land. If you simply don't like your opening hand you can elect to take a mulligan
. In this case you do not need to show your hand, but you only get to draw six cards for your new starting hand. You can continue to take mulligans like this by dropping one card each time.
8. Players flip a coin or roll a dice to decide who goes first and then alternate between players for that match.
9. All results must be posted on this thread.
10. A win = 3pts. A loss = 0pts. If a player fails to make themselves available for a match (or matches) they will forfeit the result 3 - 0 to the other player. (We will be reasonable about this ruling and look to resolve unavailability in other ways first). Phil will act as referee for this sort of ruling.
11. Games won / lost will be taken into consideration for the purposes or resolving points ties between players on the league table.
12. The top four from each league will go through to a seeded quarter-final knockout stage.
13. Quarter-Final draw:
(I) 1st place in Group #1 vs. 4th Place in Group #2
(II) 2nd place in Group #1 vs. 3rd place in Group #2
(III) 3rd place in Group #1 vs. 2nd place in Group #2
(IV) 4th place in Group #1 vs. 1st place in Group #2
14. Semi-Final draw:
Winner of match (I) vs. Winner of match (III)
Winner of match (II) vs. Winner of match (IV)
15. Any rules queries can be directed to either Jamie or myself. We will do our best to clear them up as quickly as possible.
16. From June we are moving to standard format deck construction for our ladder games. Please let us know what you think.
17. Basic rules for MTG can be found here.
18. The winner will be rewarded with a in their profile signature.
Thanks
Gary

Re: [MTG] May Ladder - Gaming Open
Now that we're official with Wizards, Jamie can submit results of these games online (provided both players are DCI registered). You get onto the world rankings and Arkham gets promoted as a MTG venue.

Re: [MTG] May Ladder - Gaming Open
Forgive my noobishness, but what is DCI registered and how do I go about registering?? I've seen it mentioned before but it seemed to be in reference to free cards so I didn't think it applied to me!
Oh, and count me in for the ladder too please!

Just means you're registered with Wizards as a player and your game results can be entered into ranking online. Bigger benefit to be honest is to Arkham as the more active players we have (ie. submitting play results) the more perks we get (early releases, free cards etc) which thus benefit the players in the club. Speak to Jamie next time you're in, he can sign you up there and then.

Gary, let Jamie know if there's a delay in getting your confirmation email (with code) back from Wizards. He can phone them and fix it.

Your DCI number is the one on the registration card that you filled in, there was even a credit card sized portion to keep with the number on it.gary bingham wrote:Sign me up. I have yet to get my DCI number but I'm waiting sorta patiently

Re: [MTG] May Ladder - Gaming Open
Gary probably means the code to come in an email which Jamie needs to submit to link the player to Arkham

If youve given me your sign up form then you have a DCI number, if you havent collected it back then ask me when youre next at Arkham.
