Tickets for this are now on sale here;

http://yellowcon40ktournament.eventbrite.com/

Limited to 16 spaces, £10 per entry (please note that entry to Yellowcon is seperate).

Remember that this tournament will take place in the same room as Alessio Cavatore (will you ever get such an opportunity again!?), so safe to say there'll be someone qualified on hand to adjudicate any rules disputes Razz

BATTLEFIELDS GAMING
Assault on Arkham is as much a social experience as it is a gaming event, and is set up to encourage player interaction, as well as giving you some challenging scenarios and tactical situations to consider during the day. For this event, we will be making full use of the rulebook’s scenarios and deployments, so that you can truly experience what a fun business fighting a war in the far future can be.

When you arrive, we will check your ticket and confirm you are on the list for the event. Match ups will be determined by us at registration to ensure that the first round matchups are 100%
randomly done.

Anyone that cannot find their opponent should come to the talk to a Referee, who will help find your opponent for you. We will input the results after the first round and do our best to ensure you fight someone of your own calibre for the second round while trying to make sure you do not have to fight the same person twice.

Each table will be a pre-designed battlefield with fixed scenery and pre placed objective. If you are unsure on anything during this time, raise your hand or try to get a Referee who will explain any questions you make have. The event organisers will provide no other games equipment and the players must provide all other materials. Play WILL start at the time specific on the schedule and WILL finish at the time specified on the schedule.

Just please remember to eat!!

POINTS TO REMEMBER
First and foremost, the Referees are always right. Their job is to navigate the minefield of different rules queries that may come up during the event and to keep the games moving. This is so that you don’t end up getting bogged down in the minutiae, when what you want to be doing is playing with toy soldiers.

Please cooperate with them and bear in mind that this game is written on the understanding that the rules won’t cover every possible eventuality, and the refs will do their best to make sure that fair play is observed. Secondly, we insist on the highest standards of behaviour from everyone attending the event. This applies in your dealings with the event staff, with each other and towards the general public. Your games will be taking place in a public venue and we ask that you are mindful of this at all time.

Secondly, we insist on the highest standards of behaviour from everyone attending the event.

Thirdly, entry into the Tides of War Event requires that you have an army, which has all models in the army fully painted in at least three colours and based in an appropriate manner remember this is a chance for players to show off their hobbyskills. We’re not looking for Golden Demon standard from everyone, but we do require that the army is painted and based in an appropriate manner. If you are unsure please get in touch with

WARHAMMER 40,000 BATTLEFIELDS
Please try to keep the playing area clear of excess ‘clutter’. So please be aware of your surroundings, where your stuff is and where other people are in relation to it.

SELECTING AN ARMY
In Tides of War we allow you to make use of a wide range of game material for the games you will play. Only the items mentioned on the list below will be allowed for this event.

• Codex: Black Templars
• Codex: Blood Angels
• Codex: Chaos Daemons
• Codex: Chaos Space Marines
• Codex: Daemonhunters
• Codex: Dark Angels
• Codex: Dark Eldar
• Codex: Eldar
• Codex: Imperial Guard
• Codex: Necrons
• Codex: Orks
• Codex: Space Marines
• Codex: Space Wolves
• Codex: Tau Empire
• Codex: Tyranids
• Codex: Witch Hunters

Any official rules published at least one calendar month before the event is held may be used and these will supersede any related lists printed prior to them.

ARMY CONSTRUCTION & THE ARMY ROSTER
This event will put you into some testing situations where you will need to have a point army that can be adapt to the twin battlefield point scoring conditions you will face across the day.
When you arrive at the event you must bring:

• An army list that shows all of your units, their point costs and any special equipment that your units will be equipped with. This is composed of an army of 1,750 points.

• An army that can stand up to the challenge from the different point scoring conditions, so please bear this in mind when picking your forces. Additionally:

• Only the armies detailed in the ‘Selecting an Army’ section may be used in this event.
• All of your lists must use the standard force organisation chart where appropriate.
• You may not include Allied forces.
• Special characters from army books may not be used.

THE WARM-UP PERIOD
This is a five minute ‘warm-up’ period at the start of each round where Players should ask their opponent questions about their army, the rules that apply to it, as well as to pick deployment
zones and deploy.

RECORDING RESULTS
The games you will be playing will have two possible scoring scenarios, which you will need to record the outcome of on a piece of paper or similar. Please hand them in as soon as
possible after finishing your event.

MATCH LENGTHS
All games will only last for the first 5 turns to ease any time constraints. If both players feel they will have time for a 6 and even 7 turn before the match begins then they may play on. This is between the players themselves to agree on and both must finish their turns within the allocated time.

BATTLEFIELD LAYOUT
Each battlefield will be pre-setup by the Judging team before players arrive. Please do not move any terrain at any point during the event.

Round 1 will have Five objectives deployed in a cross formation with players setting up using a pitched battle deployment.

Round 2 will have the same objective setup but will use a dawn of war deployment setup.

Round 3 will have the objectives moved into an X formation and will use spearhead deployment.

Players will still roll off to decide who deploys first/ who has first turn as well as taking the initiative if so desired.

VICTORY CONDITIONS
Players will earn victory through both capturing objectives and kill points. You will earn 3 points for controlling the most objectives by the end of the game or 1 point will be awarded each if you both hold the same amount of objectives by the end of the game. Alongside this players will be awarded 1 extra point for each kill point they beat their opponent’s kill points total by. This means it is entirely possible for the player who won on objectives to get fewer points than their opponent if they lost a large portion of their army in achieving objective supremacy, so tactics are needed.
